STAR RANKINGS
Star Rankings are a URTV tradition that was started in URTV3. Since URTV3, Star Rankings were simply a method of keeping Housecalls invested and having the houseguests have something to read. They were optional for all the staff, it usually had no influence on All-Star selections and it's categories were too bare to really get a very good idea of how people were playing.
Star Rankings has now juiced up from 4 to 7 categories and we encourage ALL Housecalls to participate each week. Stars rank as follows:
DUD - Total failure
* - Bad
** - Poor
*** - Average
**** - Great
***** - Perfect
Categories are as follows:
Strategy
Alliances
Influence
Personality
Confessions
Activity
Competitions
Credibility
And here's a description for each category:
Strategy
How good of a game player is this person? Do they show a strong sense of strategy to get themselves further in the game? Or they playing to win or just trying to get by? High stars go to players who are setting the road for victory, low stars go to players who are floating by or not playing for themselves.
Alliances
How well is this person set up as far as allies go? And more importantly, are they a trustworthy member of the bonds they set up? High stars goes to someone who has many houeguests who trust them. Low stars goes to someone who's just chilling out and not bothering to expand.
Influence
How influential is this person? Do they have a big say in what happens in the game or are they constantly flicked away? High stars goes to someone who always causes big waves and is responsible for game changing moves. Low stars goes to people who constantly vote on the wrong side of the vote and people who just nod their head to what their alliance says to do.
Personality
How much of a character is this person? How well do they stand out against other people? High stars goes to someone who has an interesting character and can connect with us. Low stars goes to someone who is boring, predictable and cookie cutter.
Confessions
Diary Rooms are important! They help keep us informed and they make the endgame something to look forward to. A great diary room should always be commended. High stars goes to someone who is constantly posting, keeping us entertained, and has a variety of different threads with different themes. Low stars goes to someone who only posts when asked something, to do competitions, and to vote.
Activity
Is this person active? Are they constantly on the board? Are they keeping up a social game and talking to people, or are they just hanging out? High stars goes to someone who's frequently on, always makes competitions, and keeps up their social game. Low stars goes to someone we're constantly waiting on, missing competitions, or missing votes.
Competitions
How strong is this person in competitions? Are they someone who's going to be in the running to win veto or HOH constantly or someone who may just be pretty much toast if nominated? High stars goes to someone who consistently wins or gets far in challenges. Low stars goes to someone who throws competitions or is usually a low scorer/early eliminated.
Credibility
How realistic is this person in actually winning this whole game? I'm not talking second place, third place, late jury, early jury - the only thing that matters is #1. The more stars, the more you can see them being crowned the winner of URTV8. The less stars, the more you can't see them having a snowballs chance in hell.
